Who is "La Niña Fresa"? Well, it could be any girl out there who has a preppy style and wants to keep in touch with her inner Latina. I know many think "fresa" has a negative connotation and pair it with Mexican teenagers who are spoiled and speak in an odd way; I don't think its a personality or language, simply a style. It's the way one acts that could present a spoiled personality, but dressing nice doesn't make you stuck up. As a Latina, I want to hook girls up with cute ways to show their Latina style through clothes and accessories. This doesn't mean go out and buy a mariachi outfit, you'd be too hot in that (and not in the good way), I'm talking about little things that make you proud of who you are and look appropriate. It could be some simple hoop earrings or sugar skull bracelets, something that stands out but doesn't distract people from your image as a whole.
So let's get down to the nitty gritty. I wanted the first post to be about a place near home, I am from Harlingen, Texas (tip of Texas, the Valley, el Valluco, whatever you want to call it) and I visited this store with my aunt about two summers ago and fell in love. Maripoza Boutique is in McAllen, Texas and has loads of stuff that can be used by anyone really, but I think a lot of their merchandise has a Hispanic touch to it. The following two pictures are from Maripoza's Facebook page. The sugar skulls known as "calaveritas" and the slim hoop earrings with turquoise beads are perfect for any fresa. ;)
You can look at their merchandise on Facebook! Here's the link:
Along with providing you a twisty sweet style, I want to introduce you to Beatriz Luengo's song "Love". Originally from Spain, Beatriz has reached out to many who don't understand what her songs say, but love to hear the sound of her voice. You can check out her interesting story at :http://www.beatrizluengooficial.com/us/home
Hope you guys like it!
